Palais Royal began 25 years ago when Gilles Zalulyan, a third-generation jewellery dealer, met Tom Korpershoek, a second-generation dealer, in Gilles’ gallery in Paris. Their immediate connection led them to collaborate at an auction in Germany, where they secured a remarkable diamond cross from a German Royal Family, defying collectors that were present.
After conducting extensive research, they were able to determine that the cross was from the 17th century, and a piece of much greater importance than what was initially believed. This legendary moment is fondly remembered by those in attendance…
