Cartier Art Deco Agate, Multi-Gem and Enamel Cigeratte Case, circa 1929
Composed of agate panels on the front and back, within blue enamel trim, the front decorated with a square guilloché enamel plaque accented by a tablescape set with a diamond vase and fruit basket highlighted with cabochon rubies and emerald, framed by rose-cut diamonds, the sides applied with a blue and cream persian motifs, flanked by green and blue geometric bands to the carved cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, mounted in 18k yellow gold. Signed Cartier Paris, Londres, New York, Made in France, with French assay mark for 18k gold, numbered, circa 1929.
